Calanova Golf Club is located close to La Cala, Mijas Costa is at the

Calanova Golf Course construction started in May 2003, the facilities
will include the club house, bar, restaurant, pro-shop, driving range and areas exclusively
for members. The residential
areas around the course will be a combination of quality apartments, villas
and villa plots.
The Calanova Golf course architects have made the most of the natural
environment, looking for a balance between providing a pleasant game to
medium handicaps and offering a challenge at the same time. Bunkers and
lakes are placed with care, the visibility has to be respected, but
golfers will also enjoy the sound of silence and the views from each
hole whilst choosing the right club for the next shot.
The design characteristics are the diversity of holes and with spectacular
views, a consequence of the natural layout and the complicated geography.
The 18-hole Championship Golf Course, is par 72, with par 4 holes from
225 to 405 meters, six holes have a dogleg to the left, five holes have
a dogleg to the right and seven in a straight line, almost flat, four
of them sensibly downhill.
The Course is pleasant for all kinds of golfers, the design
of the holes and the placing of the various obstacles to define the fairway
according to each players level. The design is aimed at achieving a more
pleasant course for the average player, taking as much advantage as possible
from the conditions of the land, as well as offering risk and a certain
degree of difficulty for better players.
In addition to the golf course, the approximately 60 hectare site has a practice range of approximately 1.6 hectares, with two practice
tees located at separate heights, each of which is 70 metres wide
and which can accommodate approximately 20 players on each.
There will also be a putting green with an area of 1,000 m² that will
let players practice their putting.
The clubhouse will have a cafe, restaurant and function suites, as well
as changing rooms and a magnificent pro shop. The clubhouse will have
magnificent views of both the sea and the golf course. The style in which
it will be built will be in keeping with the area [Andalucian.] Top range construction materials will be used.
The car park is located at the entrance to the premises and the
Clubhouse and has sufficient capacity for at least 150 cars.
Holders of Calanova Golf Club rights to use are entitled to special
rates, discounts and benefits for services such as golf buggies, amongst
others.
Golf Memberships.
There are 1,100 individual memberships, which are "Right to use"
valid until the end of 2067 with a maintenance fee payable.
The Company holding Calanova Golf Club, can offer a maximum 2 hours of
tee-times per day to non-owners of the “Right to Use”, once
that the maximum number of 1,100 members have joined the Club.
Members of Calanova Golf Club enjoy special rates, discounts and
preferential conditions when using golf carts, driving range and other
facilities.
The Calanova Golf Club Admission Committee must approve all membership
applications.
Discounted memberships are available for owners of property in the Calanova
developments.
The Right to Use is Transferable.

Progress:
The environment study for the port is well under way, the anti-project has been prepared and has been presented to the official ports department.
The project has been changed to a new concept of port design, which will be a cultural reference for all Spain and Europe!.

La Cala sports centre:
Mijas town hall has decided to build a sports centre in La Cala, on a 10,000 m2 site next to the football ground. The centre will include 3 tennis courts, 3 open air pitches for basketball, handball and five a side football as well as 3 indoor courts.
The investment is 2.5 million euro, work will begin late 2006, the second phase will include a 25 metre indoor heated swimming pool.
